WWSI Telemundo in Philadelphia seeks a Senior Content Producer who is responsible for assisting the assistant news director with leadership responsibilities including editorial supervision of content on multi-platform content delivery newscasts and news programs. Work closely with show content producers, reporters and anchors to desktop edit, write, produce and gather content.


• Work directly with Assistant News Director, Telemundo and NBC Managers, Producers, Anchors, VJ’s and production crews in overall news content production.

• Carry out news editorial mission; executing the daily strategy by setting expectations and holding staff accountable.

• Copy edit content of all platforms including broadcast, web, social media and out-of-home.

• Work with assistant news director on planning and production.

• Lead news producers.

• Editing skills to edit video clips, packages and news content for news casts and digital media.

• Able to write news scripts, promotional teasers, headlines and topicals.

• Will serve as a back-up producer as needed.

• Have a full understanding of current events and Telemundo tools to help achieve daily goals.

• Have a full understanding of all newsroom systems making suggestions to improve or replace outdated inefficient systems.

• Work with departments; promotions, production, engineers, creative service, IT and building maintenance to create the most accurate, relevant and compelling local news coverage.

• Knowledge of Telemundo News standards and ethics.

• Display strong editorial judgment, be an excellent writer and respond to breaking news situations.

• Approve reporter package scripts.

• Final script approval and print for newscasts.


• Must be able to speak, read and write fluently in Spanish and must be able to speak, read and understand English.

• BA or BS in Journalism or related field or 5 -7 years’ experience of broadcast experience.

• 2 to 4 years Executive News Producer experience.

• Editing skills to edit video clips, packages and news content for news casts and digital media.

• Excellent news judgment, creative ideas and writing skills a must.

• Must have leadership qualities, be detail oriented, organized and able to handle intense deadline pressure.

• Interested candidate must submit a resume/CV through to be considered.

• Must be willing to work in Houston area and travel as needed for special assignments.

• Must be willing to work long hours, varying shifts (including nights and weekends) and report to work in emergencies depending upon news coverage when necessary.

• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.

• Must be 18 years or older.

• Must have a valid driver’s license.

• Must be able to provide a reel/portfolio of work examples -- if available, include a web address. when you submit your resume.

• Able to work long hours, including weekends and holidays.
