The SeniorDirector, Talent Management is responsible for leading Cox Media Group’s Talent strategy.  This includes Talent Management & Development, Organization Effectiveness, Diversity and Inclusion and College Recruitment.  The Senior Director oversees the delivery of services through his or her direct reports, outside contractors & consultants and HR Business Partners.


  • Develops and implements a talent strategy aligned with business priorities.
  • Leads all talent management processes, including performance management, talent review and succession, selection, mentoring, leadership development and general employee based learning.  
  • Manages the design and implementation of talent management tools, policies and practices.
  • Leads executive assessment and development processes, including executive coaching and learning programs.
  • Leads organizational effectiveness initiatives in the areas of strategy, organizational assessment, change management, team development and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Is the primary focal point for enterprise-wide talent initiatives; provides input and a voice for the business.
  • Manages talent management and learning technology implementations including integrated talent management, measurement, evaluation, talent analytics, web-based learning, and online mentoring.
  • Leads the organization’s diversity & inclusion strategy.
  • Leads the organization’s college recruitment strategy.
  • Partners with CMG business leaders and HR Business Partners to understand and support talent development needs.
  • Leads a team of talent management professionals, and ensures quality in both learning programs and organizational effectiveness consulting.
  • Models use of talent management processes.
  • Stays current with talent management best practices and new supporting technology.


• 8-10 years of experience leading talent management and/or the learning and development function. 
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline including OE, Human Resource Management, Psychology, Business, Communications or related field.  Master’s degree preferred.
• Successful consulting experience in working with employee, leadership and organizational effectiveness activities.
• Excellent large and small group facilitation skills.
• Ability to determine training needs and appropriate method for delivery of training.
• Effective project management skills.
• Experience and/or significant exposure in the following areas:  leadership development, leadership assessment, team facilitation, change management, performance management, coaching c-suite leaders, talent review and diversity. 
• Demonstrated customer service skills at all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated leadership ability in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Excellent computer technology skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Office desktop tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Works collaboratively across organizational boundaries.
