Successful candidate will lead and direct all aspects of Retail Operations Finance for Universal Studios Hollywood theme park and CityWalk. Areas of responsibility include financial planning, business case analysis, process improvement, budgeting, reporting, accounting, inventory control, and staff management/development. Position reports to VP of Finance, with significant exposure to the senior leadership team. Given current and planned expansion and improvement of the park, this candidate will play a critical role in growing the retail business of the park in a financially sound way.

•Financial forecasting (operating plan, latest estimates – P&L and cash flows. Monthly capital pacing)

•Reporting (weekly/monthly P&L, quarterly business reviews, cash flows, monthly capital position)

•Accounting (inventory control, daily activity, monthly close, capital/project tracking)

•Analysis (variance analyses, business case evaluation)

•Process Improvement (financial & operational)

•Total staff of 6 (management/development)

•Partner with SVP/VPs to drive performance and develop and execute business strategies

•Provide strong technical leadership, implementing best practices

•Frequent senior leadership updates/presentations

•Lead ad hoc projects, as requested


•Bachelor's degree in Finance, accounting, business, economics or related field

•Minimum 7 years of progressive finance, financial planning and analysis or accounting experience

•Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Access)

**Desired Characteristics**

•Prior experience in retail/consumer products and/or theme park operations

•Effectively lead and influence cross functional teams in a matrixed environment

•Resourceful problem solver, with the ability to prioritize and create approaches to meet required objectives

•Excellent analytical abilities are required, including advanced Excel and Access skills; SAP, BPC and/or Microstrategy knowledge a plus.

•Demonstrate leadership values and ability to develop and participate in diverse/cross-functional teams

•Requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with and influence a wide spectrum of customers

•Ability to maintain a big picture perspective as well as be detail-oriented is essential.
