The Analytics & Insights team is responsible for data driven strategic thinking and insight across multiple touch points at Cox Media Group (CMG). Specifically, we:

Lead the development and evolution of our CMG’s digital measurement platforms.

Derive insights from research and data that provide holistic views of performance across experiences and channels.

Support CMG business units in understanding digital audience data and leveraging insights that inform digital strategy.

Support data visualizations for CMG business units and advertiser clients.

The Senior Analyst will be a subject matter expert for web analytics and platform metrics across CMG. This will be a “go-to” position within CMG to understand the current and future states of our digital audience measurement systems and tools. The Senior Analyst would also act as a mentor to non-senior analysts on the team.

Job Responsibilities

Develop, manage, and distribute data and insights to drive business decisions for CMG’s radio and TV properties via regular and ad-hoc reporting including statistical calculations, graphical representations, and written analyses utilizing a combination of Adobe Digital Marketing Suite tools, radio streaming data tools, TV video tools, and data visualization tools.

Be the first line of contact for CMG properties when it comes to questions around analytics and any tools the Analytics team manages. Properly manage expectations of end users with respect to questions, training, and reporting deliverables.

Build, maintain, and foster relationships with digital leaders and staff in each CMG market. Be a resource and advocate for them.

Offer and manage trainings for analytics tools (whether on-site or via webinar).

Identify trends and anomalies in online audience behavior and provide strategies for improving performance or data collection. Communicate these findings to a wide variety of audiences at CMG who have varying degrees of analytics knowledge.

Assist in QA of analytics implementations during development of products/projects, troubleshoot data collection inconsistencies, and suggest improvements/refinements to existing implementations.

Regularly communicate across CMG with respect to online activity and clearly articulate findings to a wide variety of audiences with varying degrees of analytics knowledge.

Understand how tracking software is implemented across multiple properties/platforms, the impacts of possible changes, and communicate these to various stakeholder groups as needed.

   Assist in the discovery and evaluation of new vendors while reassessing existing ones. Contribute to contract negotiations and renewals as needed. Hold vendors accountable for the services promised.


Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required.

4+ years of working with clickstream analytics tools such as: Adobe SiteCatalyst, Google Analytics, Webtrends.

2+ year(s) of experience in working with BI and data visualization tools, such Tableau or Qlik.

Strong understanding and/or application of SQL and R.

Excellent presentation and data visualization skills.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly communicate information to a cross-functional group.

Strong understanding of JavaScript and its application in the use of data collection.

Familiarity with audience analytics implementation best practices, ad targeting technologies, and/or data mapping tools, a plus.

Google Analytics Certification, a plus.
