**Responsibilities**

The Sr. Broadcast engineer is responsible for the troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of all on-air and news gathering equipment. As an integral part of the service and delivery team, the Engineer will proactively collaborate with stakeholders, manage from concept to delivery large scale projects and integrate solutions to enhance content delivery for NBCOTS.



Responsibilities



+ Perform preventative maintenance and repair on all equipment

+ Provide operational support to News, Creative Services and other departments as needed.

+ Assist with new equipment integration.

+ Lead and support multiple Engineering and technology projects.

+ Develop new broadcast, IT and Digital initiatives that are in line with business direction and strategy.

+ Develop or enhance workflows & processes designed to improve quality and reduce flaws.

+ Design, support and implement permanent technical solutions across divisional lines.

+ Other duties as deemed necessary

**Qualifications/Requirements**

Minimum Qualifications



+ Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent work experience.

+ 10 Years’ experience working with television broadcasting systems

+ 3 years’ experience in networking with configuration, networking protocols, devices and routing, authentication TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP settings

+ Familiarity with Comark Inductive Output Tube broadcast high power (80 KW) transmitters or equivalent.

+ Understanding of network and server technologies including IP routing and switching technology.

+ Component level troubleshooting, large project conception and implementation and customer focused problem solving.

+ Working knowledge of both digital and analog video/audio systems, RF and ENG microwave, field and studio cameras and decks.

+ Must have flexible work availability to service 24/7/365 operation (including weekends, holidays and overnight)

+ Understanding of transmitter cooling systems, radio frequency filtering and Dielectric RF lines, waveguides and Antennas, HVAC systems and diesel powered AC generators.

+ Basic understanding of microwave transmission and reception specifically those of Vislink Ink. (MRC). Electronic News Gathering (ENG) receives antennas.

+ Must be able to lift/carry equipment (25 lbs-50 lbs)Additional Requirements

+ Knowledge of complex systems; encoding, media transport, web interactivity, automation, NLE, & fiber distribution, etc.

+ Experience troubleshooting and analyzing IP networks.

+ Hands-on experience with server/workstation/laptop hardware configurationmaintenance and repair (Dell, HP, Apple).

+ Knowledge of Windows XP, Windows 7, 2003/2008 Server, MS Office/Exchange.

+ Experience in networking with configuration, networking protocols, devices and routing,authentication TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP settings.

+ Deployment automation software.

+ Bilingual a plus: English/Spanish
