**This will be an Expat role based in Beijing, China.**

**SUMMARY:** Responsible for directing and managing the Architectural and Engineering design and construction administration effort for all attractions designed and conceptualized within Universal Creative, including resources, finances, and schedule of that scope. Responsible for directing and managing any major attraction development teams with their implementation and reporting to executive management.

**Qualifications/Requirements**

**MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:**



+ Responsible for the hiring and team member selection required to implement various Universal Creative projects. Responsible for their performance, successful completion of projects, development and growth. Manages the other facility design managers on the team to ensure all of the facilities are being designed to meet all of the project requirements (aesthetics, technical, budget, schedule and competencies).

+ Responsible for the direction of facility and architectural design, including all supporting infrastructure and area development for an entire theme park and/or other resort developments (hotel, nightlife entertainment districts, etc.) from Blue Sky Development through completion of Construction.

+ Oversees the collaboration with the Creative Studio, Ride Show Engineering, Operations Team and A&E consultants to ensure creative and technical delivery, complete coordination, operational functionality, quality assurance and cost effectiveness.

+ Leads facility design variations of existing attractions required for integration into projects as assigned.

+ Leads the Architecture and Engineering team, including A&E consultant, during the design and construction phases of the project.

+ Leads the design strategy to achieve quality deliverables within the schedule and on the budget.

+ Reviews and approves requirements for outside design resources, including: preparing requests for proposals, negotiating contracts, and managing the design process. Forecasts resource requirements for each phase of the contract, and develop a corresponding budget. Reviews and approves Architecture and Engineering team expenditures. Delivers weekly progress reports on the status of the project and other outside Architecture and Engineering design efforts.

+ Reviews and approves the Architecture and Engineering schedule for facility design.

+ Monitors construction in the field including identifying and resolving discrepancies between construction and drawings and/or design intent.

**SCOPE:** Directs and oversees the Architectural and Engineering design and construction administration effort for attractions, resorts and themed environments within Universal Creative. Also oversees the resources, finances, and schedule of that scope.

**QUALIFICATIONS:**



+ Excellent analytical and organizational skills.

+ Familiarity of international (expatriate assignments) is highly desirable.

**EDUCATION:**



+ Bachelor’s degree is required from a four year college or university in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

+ Master’s degree in is preferred in Engineering or Architecture.

**EXPERIENCE:**



+ 10-15 years’ required turn-key projects experience, specifically within the entertainment/theme park industry.

+ Supervisory and contract/vendor management experience required.

+ 15-20 years’ required relevant design and construction/project management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

**CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:** Licensed Architect preferred.
