This position will be responsible for designing and implementing purchasing programs and strategies, as well as negotiating distributor and manufacturing agreements, managing vendor relationships, optimizing invoicing prices, and driving cost savings. This position will support the Shared Services operations and manage the food purchasing including but not limited to: Financial/Budget development and responsibility, coordinating with Outside Vendors, field Food & Beverage VP’s & managers, and Inventory Controls. Lead Shared Services projects which may include purchasing and Food & Beverage initiatives.

This position will establish genuine relationships with current vendors and develop relationships for growth with any potential vendors. The position will be accountable for leading the Purchasing team towards organizational goals and ensuring a continuous supply of Food items at the best possible cost/quality.

Essential Functions

• Ensure all PO’s are processed and paid in a timely manner. Conduct yearly business reviews with the top vendors

• Develop/ Maintain inventory system and non-stock receiving process, including physical tracking of material from receiving PO’s and electronic tracking

• Manage execution of programs and special projects; as assigned including but not limited to; Eatec ingredient nutritional / recipe analysis, menus / menu board administration, service to the field, special event coordination, food service support office operation

• Maintain budgetary goals as they pertain to: Labor and Non Labor

• Work with senior management for their needs where it pertains to F&B equipment, small wares, special requests or Shared Services programs and manage capital requests

• Manage special requests from field managers to facilitate superior customer service relating to availability and distribution of food

• Manages relationships with suppliers including contract compliance

• Develop strategies that are in line with corporate objectives and budget guidelines

• Analyze financial reports to quickly identify and address trends and cost effectiveness

• Lead a high performing team of three that partners cross-functionally to drive change and deliver significant value

• Partner with culinary team and operations teams to source product in support of menu innovation

• Negotiates food, beverage and supply purchasing contracts

• Identifies and implements actions that continually position the business and brand(s) for increased quality and reduced food costs

• Forecasts usage and costing models, monitoring and forecasting upcoming levels of demand

• Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established USH policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities

• Consistently achieve operational excellence

• Various projects as assigned


• Undergraduate degree required; preferably in a related field

• Experienced in multi-unit Food & Beverage, or Hospitality organization highly preferred

• 7 to 10+ years managing the Purchasing responsibilities of a high-growth organization

• Thorough knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and POS systems

• Ability to work rotating schedules, holidays, weekends and nights

• Must have proven success in controlling costs, maximizing profit and directly supervising a team

• Must have experience in the development and implement of strong SOPs to drive consistency and quality of product

• Must have experience in leading projects from start to finish with proven track record of successfully managing and prioritizing multiple projects simultaneously

• Experience creating and driving the analytic framework for planning and implementing organizational change

• Possess strong organizational leadership skills with an eye for detail, selfless support of the Team and a work ethic that sets the stage for everyone around you

• Strong command of budgeting and costs controls

• Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, organizational and multi-tasking skills.

• Ability to effectively communicate across all lines of business, and with all levels of management
