**Responsibilities**

Universal Parks & Resorts group is a fully integrated, in-house finance and sourcing department conducting primary research from questionnaire development, field work, data processing and compilation to final analysis and reporting. The Senior Sourcing Specialist will review and analyze a wide range of projects and purchase requisitions including capital and expense items and services; investigate and develop sources of supplies and services, prepare scopes of works, bid specifications; issue bid requests and review proposals. Also requires interpretation of purchasing procedures to departments and vendors, as a specialist in assigned material categories, which require a high degree of operations and technical knowledge based on sourcing category.



ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:



• Knowledgeable on the Strategic Sourcing process, drafting of contracts, financial reviews and procurement practices

• Builds and fosters relationships and effectively partners across varied functions with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, and colleagues to influence change

• Project Management: Drives completion of multiple simultaneous projects by proactively considering new alternatives and driving critical thinking to optimize results

• Provides input and support for continuous improvement programs within the department

• Development, evaluation, and presentation of business case and cost/benefit analysis to stakeholders

• Communicates proactively and effectively with stakeholders and suppliers

• Leverages industry associations, peers and stakeholders to identify best practices for strategic sourcing for outsourcing category and supplier management



Strategic Sourcing



• Proactively identifies and recommends category sourcing options and partners with stakeholders to implement them

• Contributes significantly to the achievement of defined category performance targets and participates in or leads competitive RFPs as necessary

• Independently negotiates commercial and performance aspects of outsourcing agreements - strong understanding of pricing models, SLAs, benchmarking, scope description required

• Leverage market knowledge and understanding of industry trends to achieve performance goals for the category

• Collaborate with stakeholders to cover various commodities such as technical operations (engineering, facilities, MRO), production (scenic, lighting, audio), park operations (construction, consumables, services)

• Perform data/spend analysis to identify opportunities for cost reduction, TCO, and value creation

• Identify long term sourcing strategies for theme park services and related commodity groups that can be used domestically and globally

• Conduct regular business reviews, financial, operational, and management process audits

• Develop and implement vendor metrics for reporting and achievements which include; supplier performance, financial performance and footprint issues

• Governance of vendor sourcing agreements

• Manage/mitigate vendor risk, business continuity and security

• Acts as liaison with vendors to ensure organizational needs are met

• Perform other duties as assigned

**Qualifications/Requirements**

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university - preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain or related degree

• 3- 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, supply chain, finance or related field

• Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

• Must have both quantitative and qualitative market research experience

• Ability to interpret and utilize key financial data; can tell a story with data

• Must have strong multitasking capabilities, project management skills and the ability to work effectively in an environment with tight deadlines

• Must be self-directed and able to work independently but also able to work collaboratively in a team-oriented department

• Ability to learn and become subject matter expert quickly

• Experience negotiating/contracting with suppliers

• Complies with all NBCUniversal/Universal Studios Hollywood policies

• Occasional travel may be required

**Desired Characteristics**

• MBA a plus

• Excellent planning and prioritization skills with the ability to quickly adapt to change
