About the Role

As a Storage Engineer, responsibilities will include performing day-to-day support of storage administration, storage infrastructure technology implementations and solving problems of diverse scope where analysis of situation requires evaluation of storage, virtualization, databases and application metrics.


+ Provides 24x7 on-call infrastructure support for all storage infrastructure platforms on a rotational basis.

+ Support EMC and Netapp storage arrays as well as Cisco and Brocade switch hardware in multi-datacenter environment. Configure and maintain EMC VMAX, VNX, VPlex, FAST VP, Netapp 3000x / 6000x / 8000x Brocade, McData and Cisco fiber switches.

+ Adhere and follow technical standards. Responsible for creating, maintaining and updating operational documentation and diagrams of the enterprise storage infrastructure, communication flows and routing necessary to support the SAN/NAS environment.

+ Proactively monitor storage systems and perform preventative maintenance and security updates to prevent performance impacts to systems and business functions.

+ Establish and maintain capacity planning solutions, processes and models

+ Able to technically participate on all technology refresh cycles (EMC, Netapp etc.)

+ Able to provision storage to Oracle / Redhat Linux, Windows, Solaris and IBM AIX Operating Systems.

+ Be able to effectively troubleshoot storage availability, connectivity and performance issues.

+ Carry out maintenance and code upgrades of all storage devices and associated software.

+ Produce metrics for Management in order to gauge the effectiveness of the group. Excellent ability to write and present reports and interact with vendors and vendor management.

+ Knowledge of backup, restore & compression methodologies such as Protection manager & Recover Point.

+ Knowledge of Change management, able to work with application owners, assist on brokering change windows.

+ Drive automation where possible Assist with the continuous analysis of the groups' processes to drive efficiencies.



+ Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

+ 5 to 7 years expertise working with EMC , Netapp, Brocade, McData and Cisco storage devices.

+ 5 to 7 years expertise with at least three of the following operating systems; Redhat Linux, Sun Solaris, Windows, IBM AIX Knowledge of database fundamentals related to Oracle or SQL Server.

+ Knowledge of NFS and Virtual platforms (VMware)

+ Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills

+ Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment

+ Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of all information

+ Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently

+ Ability to comply with current and updated policies and procedures

+ Ability to interact courteously and effectively with a diverse populationEligibility Requirements
