The Position

The SVP Enterprise Media Sciences role will be responsible for leading, managing, and developing the Enterprise Media Sciences team within the NBCU Enterprise Business Intelligence organization. This newly created position will be responsible for setting a strategic vision for how the organization will leverage Comcast and NBCU’s robust data and analytics platform to drive media decisions that lead to profitable growth across our broad portfolio of brands. This team will provide leadership and expertise in media, with a focus on data and analytics initiatives that empower business owners to create media and message mix strategies and solutions that drive optimization (i.e., effectiveness, efficiency) of omni-channel spending across multiple business units at NBCU. This team will also be responsible for providing similar support for Comcast Cable, thus providing a holistic perspective of media optimization across all of Comcast NBCU. The team will be responsible for maintaining a broad Comcast NBCU media perspective with regard to an enhanced data environment, metric standardization and reporting, and platform integration while aligning and executing with business units at a local level (key team resources will be embedded within and operate locally in five primary geographies: New York, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Orlando and Stamford).


**Strategic Planning and Visioning**

+ Define vision/strategy for Enterprise Media Sciences that supports Comcast NBCU portfolio of brands

+ Implement an enterprise-wide strategic vision that consistently leverages data assets and advanced analytic tools/applications to assist in optimizing media decisions made in close partnership with Business Units and their respective agencies **Change Leadership**

+ Drive transformational change and strategy execution to achieve specific business results

+ Incorporate broad media knowledge to address complex, unusual, and critical issues

+ Champion data-driven decision-making to drive cultural change and awareness

+ Focus on four core areas of transformation: (1) source of truth through an enhanced data environment, (2) standardized metrics critical for growth and relevance, (3) operationalizing data and decision sceinces, and (4) delivering best in class tools and applications **Leading Collaboration across the Enterprise**

+ Build positive and collaborative relationships with various teams across the enterprise to drive the evolution of data analytics and insights framework

+ Establish Media Sciences COE to enable and empower business owners across all business units to create their marketing/media strategies and solutions using a robust data and analytics platform **Developing Best Practices and Building Capabilities**

+ Develop frameworks and best practices for evaluating potential data partnerships, inclusive of MMM solutions, reporting and data visualization, optimization tools and applications, and monetization opportunities

+ Build reporting and data visualization capabilities that provide a holistic view of business performance, and enable the use of data in making strategic business decisions

+ Drive, collaborate and align with business units to ideate and build media solutions in the next generation predictive analytics space **Team Building and Development**

+ Attract, develop, mentor, coach, and retain top talent

+ Create a clear vision and specific, measurable goals for team members and incorporate broad knowledge to address complex, unusual, and critical issues


Basic Qualifications

+ Minimum 15 years of experience in analytics with increasing responsibility in the Entertainment, Media, or Communications industries

+ A Bachelors’ degree is requiredEligibility Requirements

+ Strong knowledge of strategic marketing, media, social, search, programmatic, web analysis, audience targeting tools and vendors, including both quantitative tracking and research methodologies

+ Strong knowledge of the media planning processes from pre-planning to post-analysis.

+ Experience with advertising and agency ecosystem in television, digital, and mobile, inclusive of technology platforms, available data sources and methods of executing data-driven campaigns

+ Excellent relationships with key vendors and other relevant industry contacts

+ Experience in leading organizational and cultural transformation; demonstrated ability to build alignment and drive effective collaboration across the organization to achieve business results

+ Proven ability to translate data into insights that illuminate customer needs, wants and behavioral drivers

+ Demonstrate organization savvy by successfully navigating complex, highly matrixed and decentralized organization

+ Creative problem-solver; takes a high level of initiative, has a strong sense of personal accountability to follow-through at all times; acts in the best interest of the organization at all times

+ Results-driven senior leader with an unwavering focus on creating value and driving profitable growth

+ Proven ability to influence, implement and execute against plans through an efficient/effective team

+ Demonstrated superb diplomacy skills, ability to use appropriate levers to persuade others to take action and to strive to find solutions that meet the mutual needs of all parties and the company as a whole

+ Solid executive presence combined with excellent verbal, written and presentation skills

+ An advanced degree (MA, MBA, PhD or equivalent) in Finance, Marketing, Business, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Quantitative Methods or related field of study highly preferred
