**Role Summary:**

The SVP Special Projects oversees the conceptualizing, planning, and executing for all major Universal Pictures motion picture events including Premieres, trailer launches and other departmental and divisional events. Support the Awards events and programs for Universal films, coordinate nominees. The position reports to the EVP Publicity for Universal Pictures.

**Essential Responsibilities:**

+ Partner with National Publicity to conceptualize, develop and execute all major film events, oversee the Special Projects team.

+ Collaborate with senior executives locking in event dates and locations.

+ Collaborate closely with publicity, print department, partnerships, multicultural and cross-divisional groups to both execute the premieres and to deliver on the objectives of a wide variety of stakeholders.

+ Determine date and location/venues/vendors for the film premieres.

+ Work to develop evite, tickets, parking passes, badges and other printed material, send out invitations, take rsvps, do seating, ticketing, will call, parking, party plans for events, as well as talent and filmmaker travel, accommodations, cars and glamour team. Oversee the budget and the vendors to execute.

+ Work with appropriate parties to create the invitation list for events.

+ Collaborate with NBCUniversal security team to develop security plan for events.

+ Coordinate use of premiere tickets for auctions for charities

+ Oversee corporate reporting for tax purposes

+ Work on Awards events including developing the plan for the event, locations, and vendors. Help select invitation lists. Work with outside consultants and oversee Awards tastemakers

+ Coordinate nominees for Awards events with seating, tickets, travel etc. as needed. Oversee tables and ads for events

+ Liaise with HFPA for Golden Globe seating

+ Manage NBC/Universal/Focus/E! Golden Globe party

+ Liaise with Academy for Academy Awards tickets, studio participation

+ Work on Film Festivals where Universal films are featured, including coordinating screening, tickets, travel, accommodations, transportation and dinners

+ Oversight of Special Projects Department’s execution of guild and union screenings, executive screenings, other special screenings for talent and filmmakers

+ Collaborate with Publicity Department on CinemaCon

+ Work as a clearing house/assist with execution of cross divisional screenings for Comcast, Government Affairs, USH, as well as others

+ Facilitate departmental gift giving

+ Continue with developing the custom event database, EventBuilderEligibility Requirements:

+ Interested candidates must submit a resume/CV online to be considered

Basic Qualifications:

+ Minimum of 10 years relevant event planning experience, with experience in Event Production and knowledge of working on major studio events.

+ Extensive experience in managing teams both in house and vendors hired, to produce flawless cutting-edge events.

+ Strong communication skills and a pro-active approach to building working relationships.

+ Must be able to effectively manage a team.

+ Must be able to cultivate strong internal and external relationships.

+ Ability to work in a fast, dynamic environment, and with competing priorities.

+ Must be able to work extended hours and travel where required.
