Summary

The Platform & Storage - Windows role is to build, monitor and support the organization’s Windows server and storage infrastructure according to best practices, while ensuring high levels of data integrity and platform availability. This position will be part of a team responsible for 24 hours per day, 365 days per year operation of storage and server platforms consisting of NetApp, Windows, UNIX, Linux and VMware. This position will participate in the development policies and procedures to ensure consistent storage and server provisioning. The Platform & Storage - Windows position is also responsible for the, availability and fine tuning of servers; development of backup and restore process design; performance analysis and monitoring; developing data disaster recovery plans.


Specific Responsibilities:

• Implementation of long-term vision, strategy, and roadmaps for storage servers and databases across the organization in conjunction with company objectives.
• Work closely with Engineering, project management, application development, network and security teams to develop and implement scalable, maintainable, consistent, highly available server and storage strategies that meet business objectives and set relevant service-levels.
• Participate in capacity planning analysis and other needs assessments to improve storage architecture strategy.
• Implementation of strategies for storage and server consolidation, virtualization, and optimization to reduce downtime and costs while improving security, stability and performance.
• Implement redundant systems and policies for disaster recovery and archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of all systems appliances and stored data assets.
• Develop procedures for backups and restores, as well as monitor the performance, success, or failure of these tasks.
• Implement and ensure adherence to data storage retention policies and create routines for end-users to facilitate storage best practices, including desktop backup administration.
• Develop and maintain procedures for storage change management, availability management, backup management, incident management, and process documentation.



Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 + years’ experience in server systems support, in a datacenter environment
• Minimum 3 + years’ experience in computer systems support environment including mid-range, and/or desktop hardware and software, and connectivity between all environments.
• Minimum 5 + years Microsoft Active Directory domain
• Minimum 4 + years RAID / SAN / NAS hardware (Dell & NetApp preferred)
• Minimum 4 + years of supporting Windows Server Platforms
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with System Center Configuration Manager
• Minimum 2 years’ experience System Center Operations Manager
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with server virtualization, preferably VMware ESXi
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with Windows Failover Clustering
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with Symantec NetBackup or similar enterprise backup solution
• Experience supporting Unix/Linux a plus
• Experience with Windows/Microsoft/PowerShell scripting a plus
• Experience administering Microsoft SQL Server and SharePoint Server a plus
• VMware VCP certification a plus
• Microsoft certifications - MCITP Server 2008R2 or MCSE Server 2012R2 a plus


Education:
• B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent training and experience
