Job Description

KCCI-TV, the Hearst Television CBS affiliate in Des Moines is seeking applicants for a Part-time Technical Operator in the Engineering department.  Experience operating professional video camera, audio, and master control equipment is preferred.  The right candidate will possess exceptional news production experience and a creative and winning attitude.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Operate broadcast studio or master control equipment, which can include cameras, switchers, audio consoles or automation software.  Work night and weekend shifts, for production of live newscasts. 
  • An aptitude for teamwork, and attention to detail. 
  • Consistent availability to work on weekends and holidays. 
  • Other duties as assigned by the TV Operations Manager

Required Skills

  • Must have a solid background in broadcast television systems, transmission, and satellite communications

Education:      

  • Some college education preferred.  Current students welcome.   

Required Experience

  • Experienced operating professional video cameras and/or television master control equipment in a live production setting.
