**Responsibilities**

The Vice President of Hardlines International is responsible for developing and executing a long-term business strategy for the core toy sub-categories across all core franchises and regions to build a sustainable business that achieves annual revenue targets.

As part of the International Consumer Products leadership team, the VP of Hardlines will be responsible for growing the CP business in line with divisional strategies and guidelines while leveraging a strong knowledge of the local regions’/markets’ individual needs and opportunities and ensuring these are translated into the master toy ranges. He/she will be responsible for identifying the best licensees to partner with, driving innovative and quality product ranges, providing pertinent regional input into Global deals, accurate quarterly forecasting and promoting retail sell-in of core ranges.



Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



Strategy:

• Set and execute a long-term business development strategy for the core Toy categories that takes into account all the regional opportunities and specificities.



Financial:

• Own the international Hardlines P&L to deliver (or exceed) annual revenue targets. Provide quarterly business forecasts from global partners to evaluate progress against budget, challenge local hardlines forecasts and highlight any upsides or sensitivities.



Category Management:

• Develop a clear growth strategy for each sub-category of business (including financial targets) and benchmark progress.

• Identify opportunities and fill gaps by product sub-category, age segment, region, country, retail channel and franchise.

• Ensure clear & timely communication of Hardlines strategies and assets with regional directors.

• Partner with the Creative & Brand Assurance team to drive quality and champion innovation in product development and ensure key local price points are met. Ensure timely product approvals in line with industry needs.



Licensee Management:

• Responsible for co-developing and co-managing (with the VP of Hardlines North America) a portfolio of master toy licensees to grow the CP business. Critically evaluate the licensee base to ensure we have the right amount and best quality partners.

• Direct management of key Global licensees and provide timely information to the regions allowing them to execute at their level.

• Negotiate the best deals (in line with CP guidelines and business objectives) and manage the process from contract to product development and execution. Provide input into global deals to ensure international needs are met.



Franchise Development:

• Develop a clear franchise growth plan for all of the core properties and identify market-specific opportunities

• Brief additional creative assets where required to meet market needs



People Management:

• Manage the team of regional Hardlines Directors (3-4 persons) and provide them with coaching and development as needed



Retail Development:

• Work with the regional retail teams to identify the key retail partners across international to ensure the product offer meets their needs.

• Understand key seasonalities and a important dates on the retail calendar

**Qualifications/Requirements**

• Minimum 10 years of global brand management experience in toys

• Minimum 5 years of direct experience with entertainment based IP and consumer Products

• Strong experience in master toy licenses and global toy deals

• Excellent understanding of brand and property positioning, retail business development function, retail distribution, and the retail environment

• Proven track record delivering growth and solid analytical / financial skills

**Desired Characteristics**

• Strong global experience, with specific attention to Latin American and Pan-Asian territories

• Current network of strong relationships with licensees, distributors and retailers

• Comprehensive knowledge of licensees' production and creative capabilities/limitations

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with attention to detail

• Proven ability of strong presentation / pitching and negotiating skills, with the ability to close

• Licensing experience at a major licensor and / or retail buying experience in category a plus

• Strategic thinker able to communicate a compelling vision for the business, along with the changing marketplace & consumer shopping patterns

• Strong leadership skills

• Able to prioritize and multi-task in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

• Flexible and able to find win-win solutions in challenging situations

• Team player

• Self-motivated professional with ability to work independently and take charge

• Willing and able to travel extensively, sometimes with short notice, domestically and internationally

• Bachelor's degree preferred
