**Responsibilities**

Job Description

The NBC Entertainment Video Apprentice Program is a comprehensive educational and training curriculum embedded inside the network’s Marketing & Digital Department. This is a 2 year program, providing a practical education with hands-on experience in video marketing. Each Apprentice will receive mentoring and personalized training from our award-winning creative team, while learning to create effective and innovative promotional material. They will learn current, state-of-the-art marketing principals in an actual professional setting and at the end of the program, be armed with marketable skills and sample work to pursue a job within the industry.



Essential Responsibilities:



+ Learn the duties of an Assistant Editor, supporting creative staff while being mentored on the creation and post-production of promotional videos such as promos, mash-ups and sizzles.

+ In the Digital Term , produce and edit short form promotional video pieces intended for social media and viral applications for NBC Entertainment’s primetime and late night programming using Adobe Premiere, Photoshop and After Effects (edit system supplied).

+ In the Marketing Term , Apprentices will work as an assistant editor for a seasoned writer-producer then transition to writing, producing and editing on-air promos, sizzles and marketing material for primetime programs and specials using Photoshop, InDesign and Avid Media Composer (edit system supplied).

+ Apprentices will be responsible for creative ideas, editorial and copy changes as needed.

+ Apprentices will be challenged with generating concepts and “big ideas.”

+ Responsible for spot production from concept to execution to finishing to distribution; communicating with digital distribution department, overseeing voice-over records, instructing on graphic needs, quality-checking and final output from desktop.

+ Supervision provided by NBC Marketing SVP/Creative Directors.

**Qualifications/Requirements**

Basic Qualifications:



+ Candidates must be willing to work in Universal City, CA.

+ College degree or pursuing degree is strongly preferred.

+ Proficiency with desktop editing and design software required. Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere strongly preferred.

+ Must have a proficiency and working knowledge of television, pop culture and current social media trends

+ Must have an interest and passion for television and media.

+ Able to work in a fast paced environment while managing multiple tasks and maintaining a professional attitude.

+ Previous experience producing and editing short form videos.

+ Strong writing and creative skills. Ability to select & work with music tracks.

+ Can work unsupervised.Eligibility Requirements:

+ Willingness to work overtime and on weekends with short notice.

+ Must have work authorization to work in the United States.

+ Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program.

+ Must be 18 years or older
