SUMMARY: Responsible for attraction recovery, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of basic animation/special effects and mechanical systems.







ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:





+ Responds to and assists in recovery and repair of attractions and show effects.



+ Troubleshoots failed components using basic forms of test equipment, schematics/prints, leak detection equipment and other specialized tools, equipment and resources.



+ Performs basic preventative and predictive maintenance as prescribed by OEM and UO Engineering specifications to include changing time-limited parts, calibrating equipment per OEM specifications as well as basic cleaning and lubricating to maintain equipment in proper working order.



+ Completes inspections and creates necessary work orders for discrepancies found. Follows correct chain of command to notify appropriate management when necessary.



+ Performs basic repairs to equipment due to safety, reliability or show quality issues found during inspections or downtimes to maintain equipment reliability and show quality.



+ Performs simple modifications per UO Engineering or OEM specifications.



+ Enters follow-up work orders for all discrepancies found. Documents all findings and work performed throughout the process of troubleshooting and performing repairs. Reports labor in Maximo for all work performed.



+ Completes PQS qualification of assigned venues. Trains new technicians to do venue-specific work orders, recovery procedures and processes.



+ Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.



+ Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established Universal Orlando policy, procedures, training and Team Member involvement activities.



+ Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements







QUALIFICATIONS:



To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:

EDUCATION:





+ High school degree or GED is required. Technical School is preferred.





EXPERIENCE:





+ 3-5 Years: Experience in troubleshooting and repair of basic to moderately complex systems that includes one or more of the following - electrical/PLC controls, electro-mechanical devices, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment either in a water park, theme park, or other industrial industries.



+ Or equivalent combination of education and experience.





CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS





+ Valid Florida Driver’s License is required to operate company vehicles.





ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:





+ Special requirements for certain specific venues may require the operation of controlled decent devices down severely angled lifts. Training is required and will be provided prior to performing the inspections.



+ Special requirements for certain specific venues may require the operation of high reaches greater than 85ft. Training is required and will be provided prior to performing the inspections.









PHYSICAL DEMANDS:



While performing the duties of this job, the individual is required to:





+ Regularly (2/3 of the time or more) stand and/or sit for prolonged periods; walk for prolonged periods (including ability to walk at a given pace that is predetermined by a moving sidewalk); talk; hear audible alarms, voice commands with background noise; use hands and fingers to grip, pinch, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; climb stairs and/or ladders; work at heights for prolonged periods of time including heights with or without railings or over open pits greater than 4 feet; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; reach, pull, push with hands and arms above/below head; repeat motions more than twice per minute; work in an environment subject to vibrations; work in an environment with flashing lights including strobe lamps; maintain alertness and attentiveness up to 4 hours while working varying hours; maintain concentration/focus (e.g., ability to interpret the work environment and make decisions on predetermined operating policies and procedure).



+ Frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time) use repetition-use an input device-a keyboard or mouse-in a steady manner; lift up to50pounds with control; push up to25pounds with control; work in varied light conditions including low or diminished lighting; work in small or tight spaces; work in confined spaces i.e. manholes or work pits; smell



+ Specific vision requirements for this role may include: close vision with or without corrective lens (clear vision at 20 inches or less); distance vision with or without corrective lens (clear vision at 20 feet or more); color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); depth perception (vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus while in changing light conditions e.g., sunshine to indoor or dark conditions).









WORK ENVIRONMENT:



While performing the duties of this job, the individual is required to:





+ Regularly (2/3 of the time or more) work in wet, humid conditions (non-weather); work in outdoor weather conditions to include direct sunlight, heat or cold; perform maintenance or servicing of powerized (energized) equipment (pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical); LOTO.



+ Frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time) use a Highreach (aerial lift); work with aerosols (spray paints, brake cleaner); exposed to bodily fluids (blood, vomit) or will include exposure to lasers or radiation equipment; use a motorized company vehicle or a leased or personal vehicle for company business; work on water attractions or yachts; exposed to a loud work environment (noise when raised conversation is needed).



+ Occasionally (1/3 of the time or less) work with cranes, extendable boom forklift (lull), forklift (sit down); weld, cut, braze, or work with open flame; work with toxic or caustic chemicals, hazardous chemicals, fluorescent lamps or batteries; work with paint/solvents; work with oils/fuels.
