SUMMARY: Responsible for the safety and security of Universal Orlando’s guests, employees and company assets.







ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:





+ Screening all Guests and Team Members upon entry into the Resort; including metal detection, security wanding, x-ray machines and bag checks.



+ Assures the security and safety of the guests and employees by observing and monitoring for unsafe or threatening conditions.



+ Escorts cash drops, money transfers, building checks and safe checks on property during and after hours.



+ Assists with crowd control during peak attendance periods and special events.



+ Responds to incidents such as traffic accidents, theft or property damage, disorderly conduct by a guest or employee, and follows up with a written report.



+ Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established Universal Orlando policy, procedures, training and Team Member involvement activities.



+ Performs other duties as assigned.













Requirements







QUALIFICATIONS:



To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:





+ A background check is mandatory and results must meet Universal Orlando’s background check criteria.



+ Class D Security License must be obtained within first 90 days (required).



+ Must have a valid Florida Driver’s License.



+ LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.



+ MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.





Consistent attendance is a job requirement.







EDUCATION:





+ High schooldegree or GED is required.





EXPERIENCE:





+ One to three years previous security experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.









PHYSICAL DEMANDS:



While performing the duties of this job, the individual is required to:





+ Regularly (2/3 of the time or more) stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds



+ Frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time) talk or hear, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.



+ Occasionally (1/3 of the time or less) sit, taste or smell, lift and/or move up to more than 100 pounds.



+ Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less), Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more), Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors), Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point), Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships).









WORK ENVIRONMENT:



While performing the duties of this job, the individual is required to:





+ Regularly (2/3 of the time or more) exposed to outdoor weather conditions.



+ Frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time) exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.



+ Occasionally (1/3 of the time or less) exposed to wet humid conditions (non-weather), work near moving mechanical parts, work in high, precarious places



+ While performing this job, the noise level in the work environment is: Moderate Noise
