**Responsibilities**

The Position

The Vice President, Brand Marketing oversees the development of all brand strategy, creative and audience marketing for Universal Kids. Primarily this position will oversee the Brand Marketing team and development of innovative, smart and insightful brand strategies for Universal Kids to shape and inform all brand and marketing creative, campaign, annual plans, positioning and key messaging. This role will also work with Research to identify audience targets and appropriate marketing pillars, opportunities and key consumer takeaways form all marketing plans. Additionally, this position needs to evaluate and provide strategic insights and analyses for the television competition and marketing and media environment. This position reports to the Senior Vice President, Marketing & Digital.



Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



• Oversee the development of marketing strategies for Universal Kids, which includes Creative development, audience mindsets, competitive deep dives, marketing and messaging recommendations/sells and strategic promotional platform recommendations



• Lead the Universal Kids brand marketing team that is responsible for all marketing and promotional efforts, development of brand strategies, brand marketing plans, social media ecosystem and media planning



• Act as the lead authority and promoter of the brand, ensuring consistent brand expression through all consumer and cultural touch points, both external and internal



• Develop creative briefs for internal and external creative teams and collaborate with Research, Marketing, Digital/Social, PR, Programming and Finance departments to ensure each campaign strategy is accurately represented and effective via media buys, PR, on-air and digital



• Oversee analysis and initiatives to activate audiences by tapping into current/potential audience segments and exploring new mindsets



• Obtain actionable consumer insights from Research and explore unique ways to look at the Nielsen audience to drive ratings and engagement



• Develop and leverage internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals



• Provide a deep understanding of consumer needs, positioning and messaging evolution, and scalable growth-driving plans and promotion



• Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners and counterparts in all departments to ensure that integrated plans deliver on both long-term and immediate-term business objectives



• Ensure that best in class project management practices are employed across the Brand team to deliver all marketing communications within strategy, budget, and deadline



• Motivate, mentor and develop a team of world class brand marketers

**Qualifications/Requirements**

The Person

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in brand/consumer marketing, strategy, media, advertising, marketing research, media or entertainment with significant experience leading a team; demonstrated track record of building brands in the kids and family space or a brand that reaches kids strongly preferred



• Strong experience in creating, launching and implementing/developing brand strategies across multiple platforms



• A familiarity with TV ratings and media math (GRPs, reach/frequency, etc.) with the ability to translate research into insights in the creation of marketing plans



• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with internal and external partners and constituencies to execute programs in a unified effort using best practices



• Passionate about marketing, television, entertainment, culture and sociological trends



• Strong leader and persuasive communicator with a vision; proven ability to self-motivate, work independently as well as collaboratively and motivate and inspire a team; excellent writing and verbal presentation skills



• Exceptional influencing skills and preferred experience working across many areas and levels of an organization



• A Bachelors’ degree from an accredited and recognized institution of higher learning
