• Oversee the provision of legal services to NBCU businesses in China, including theatrical, consumer

products licensing, digital gaming licensing, co-production and local content development, business

development, government affairs and all other corporate support groups

• Provide legal support, and advise TVD and other NBCU businesses on legal matters as and when


• Collaborate with corporate IP protection team to help drive IP protection initiatives in China

• Extend legal support to new businesses and territories that come under the supervision of the China


• Lead legal initiatives as part of the senior management team for China

• Provide advice and counsel to senior management teams working within territory on legal matters and

the impact on business plans and strategic initiatives

• Participate in the definition and development of corporate policies procedures and programs and

provide continuing guidance and counsel on all legal matters

• Provide relevant stakeholders in both London and the US with timely and accurate updates

• Serve as legal support on all major local business transactions including acquisitions, divestitures and

joint ventures

• Advise on legal aspects of local financing and accounting legislation, future and current business

structures and legal entities

• Manage and lead the implementation of legal guidelines, policies and procedures to support strategic

goals and to ensure compliance with NBCU policies and practices

• Participate as member of local senior management team in business strategy and other leadership


• Undertake, where necessary and appropriate, transactional and corporate legal work, particularly in

reference to major partnership contracts

• Provide legal expertise and guidance around the structuring and negotiation of development,

production, co-production, distribution, financing and tax incentive deals within the local territory

• Build strong commercial relationships with broader legal and business affairs management in both

London and US offices

• Ensure compliance by all local OpCos and NBCUniversal International corporate functions with local

and international laws

• Proactively identify and mitigate against any potential compliance issues, designing, implementing

and disseminating a robust and effective strategy to inform, train and educate relevant stakeholders

• Manage, motivate and supervise a small team


• Substantive post qualified experience within a complex, matrix multinational preferably with media

and entertainment companies.

• Qualified lawyer. Experience must include in-house legal role in a local or Asia Pacific based company

or US Studio


• Able to work closely with stakeholders from multiple businesses and territories

• A true business partner, understanding and addressing business needs while not compromising legal


• Strong emotional intelligence and professionalism and is genuinely approachable, understanding and


• Inspires trust in others and is solutions-orientated, able to translate intricate legal language into the

day to day media environment

• Has a multi-disciplinary approach, can join the dots and is able to work with a diverse team across
