• Minimum 3 years of experience as television reporter

• Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism or related field, or equivalent work experience

• Must be willing to work in South Florida

• Must have a valid driver’s license

• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

• Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required

**Desired Characteristics**

• Investigative or consumer reporting background preferred

• Strong on-camera presence

• Excellent writing, storytelling and live reporting skills with ability to juggle multiple long-term and short-term projects

• Solid news judgment, strong writing and research skills

• Very strong speech skills with the ability to ad-lib effortlessly in various types of situations, particularly breaking news

• Strong understanding and demonstration of editorial judgment and journalistic ethics, including a current knowledge of laws of libel, slander and applicable FCC rules and regulations

• Working knowledge of how to obtain public records and analyze data

• Demonstrated ability to solve problems, prioritize decisions, and successfully manage multiple assignments concurrently in a high pressure, breaking news environment

• Effective self-starter with the proven ability to generate and produce news stories

• Proficiency delivering enterprising stories

• Experience being actively engaged in editorial processes and meetings

• Knowledge of non-linear editing and shooting workflow

• Love for Social Media (Twitter, Facebook, etc.) and knowledge of how to effectively use it

• Familiarity with emerging news production techniques and technology, with a pioneering spirit with desire to learn emerging technologies and invent the future

• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels

• Collaborative team player

• Positive attitude and availability to work long hours, various schedules, late nights, weekends, and/or holidays, under tight deadline pressure.

• Willingness to work in high risk emergency situations (e.g., hurricanes)
